Court Appearances
Our lawyers can deal with matters in the District Court, Family Court, Employment Court, High Court, and certain Tribunals.
For most people, their first contact with the court system will be in either the Family Court or the District Court. The Family Court is a specialised court as the name implies. The District Court has a wide jurisdiction and deals with many different legal matters – traffic, criminal, civil claims, restraining orders, animal welfare cases and appeals from various Tribunals.
While lawyers can appear in certain Tribunals, there are some Tribunals that lawyers are not permitted to appear, such as the Disputes Tribunal. Appeals against a decision by a Tribunal including the Disputes Tribunal, are dealt with by the District Court.
Traffic – Limited Licence applications – Drink drive matters
We can assist with most traffic matters including drink drive charges.
We can assist with making an application to the court for a work licence (limited licence) whether you have lost your licence by demerit points, drink driving or otherwise.
Recent changes to the law mean that it has become a little more difficult to obtain a limited licence. We will however walk you through the process and will advise you at an early stage whether you will be able to apply for a limited licence as not everyone who loses their licence has an automatic right to apply for a limited licence.
Our services include the following:
- Court Appearances
- Traffic – Limited Licence Applications – Drink drive matters
- Legal Aid (in certain circumstances) – Civil law, employment disputes, some tribunal disputes (link to Legal Aid)
